Wedding Celebrant FAQs

Things couples usually want to know

There are no silly questions when you're planning a wedding. Here are the answers to the things couples most often ask me before booking.

Absolutely. We can meet in person or by video call for a relaxed, no-obligation chat. It's important that you both feel completely comfortable with the person standing beside you at the ceremony.

Yes. I learn about your relationship through a detailed questionnaire and our planning conversations, then write your ceremony around your story, personalities and sense of humour. You'll see and approve everything before the wedding.

Yes. I'll help you work out what to say, provide examples and give feedback while keeping each person's vows private from the other. They will still sound like you, not like something downloaded from the internet.

Of course. I work with couples from all cultures, backgrounds, religions, ages and identities. We'll discuss what matters to you and your families and incorporate it respectfully.

You apply for the licence through the Department of Internal Affairs. I'll remind you when it needs to be done, check the paperwork, oversee the signing and file the completed documents after your ceremony.

Yes. I regularly travel throughout Auckland, Waiheke Island, Northland, Waikato and beyond. Any travel costs will be confirmed clearly before you book.

Completely. All couples and all forms of love are welcome, celebrated and treated with respect.

I have a strong network of trusted celebrant friends across the wedding industry. If illness or an emergency genuinely prevented me from being there, I would immediately arrange an experienced replacement, brief them fully and hand over your ceremony and plans. You would never be left scrambling or expected to solve it on your own.

Yes. I bring a Samson Expedition XP312w portable PA and wireless handheld microphone to every wedding. It can comfortably cover ceremonies of up to 200 guests, runs on battery so it can be used almost anywhere, and connects by Bluetooth if you want to play ceremony music from Spotify. It is all included at no extra cost.
